OUR VOCATION

Born to Serve

We, the Fraternas, desire to respond to the call from God to consecrate ourselves to Him in order to serve others in the world.

We have listened in the silence of prayer to the infinite yearnings that God Himself has sealed in our hearts and have discovered that only in aspiring radically to holiness will we be able to radiate the Light of Christ in a world that suffers much in its remoteness from God.

We are conscious that only by giving our lives with love to the service of others will we find the full meaning of our existence and collaborate with God to make possible the desired Civilization of Love.

Making Our Life a Prayer

From our daily personal encounter with Lord Jesus in prayer and service comes the urgency we feel to show the loving face of God to everyone that we meet. Following the example of the Virgin Mary, we strive to be free and reconciled women, living an authentic femininity in order to embrace all people and guide them towards a personal encounter with her Son, Jesus.

Formation for the Apostolate

Today's world suffers from the consequences of having adopted the wrong ideas, which, promising progress and freedom, have in fact moved human beings away from the truth and their authentic dignity. Faced with the vast challenges of today, the Fraternas live a life of integral and continuous learning, making every effort to obtain the highest level of education and professional preparation. We are aware that only with such preparation will we best be able to help people in their search for the truth that sets them free. For the Fraterna, life long learning follows her first years of community life, which is a special time of formation during which she seeks to know and deepen her own vocation.

Our International Formation Center is presently located in the city of Lima, Peru. In this coming March of 2006, a new International Formation Center will begin in England.

Striving to respond to the vast challenges of today, we spare no effort in obtaining the highest level of education and professional preparation. We are conscious that only with such preparation will we be able to help the human being in the search for the Truth that sets us free. We accomplish this in the context of many different occupations and careers, ranging from theologian to engineer, to teaching or working in the medical profession. Some of the Fraternas work as musicians, psychologists, philosophers, architects, economists and lawyers, to name a few.

Hope for the World

Our communities seek to be living signs of hope for the world and provide an environment where one can live the demands of love and experience the joy that comes from the presence of the Lord Jesus among us. We strongly believe in always giving the best of ourselves and in living our vocation with fidelity. We cooperate actively in forging a culture of life, where one can live in the fullness of love, with authentic freedom and hope, and with the fervent desire of reaching heaven.
